Book a Session

Let’s get to work!

I offer one-hour in-person and online sessions. My rate is $30/hour plus any travel required. For all sessions, I take careful notes, which will help the writer recall what was discussed during the session. I will also prepare suggestions and additional information that I believe will be helpful for the writer after our session.

A few notes:

My services are best suited for:

  • Students seeking assistance brainstorming essay topics, finding a thesis or topic for a writing project, or strengthening a first draft
  • Students seeking assistance college applications, graduate school applications, or fellowship personal statements
  • People seeking assistance preparing resumes and cover letters
  • Students generally wishing to improve their writing

A first draft is not required to get the most out of a session!  Talking out ideas before starting a project can help writers create a more polished and organized first draft, and alleviate stress and pressure caused by an overwhelming project.  For many writers, a brainstorming session can be a huge relief!

Please note that while I can offer advice and answer questions about specific grammar concerns, I will refrain from copy editing or proofreading a writing project. I find that editing often comes down to a writer’s personal preference and style, so if I edit a project, it would cease to be entirely the writer’s own work. This kind of editing may be at odds with an institution’s plagiarism policies. Moreover, editing is generally not as helpful to a writer as workshopping the piece of writing as a whole. This approach also saves you money. Please let me know if you have questions about this policy.
